I was walking in the woods minding my own business this time, and I heard this weird screeching sound. Maybe 30 seconds later there was a raccoon running at me. To my disappointment he was not running to me for a snuggle sesh. Many of you might wonder “why the heck didn’t you run?!”
Listen, there was a huge steep hill between me and a place of safety so I knew REAL quick we were about to fight! When he got to me I blocked him with my foot, reached down and grabbed him by the back of the neck and threw him. He came right back at me so I grabbed him by the neck again and pinned him down. By this time the kids had ran down to see who was getting murdered, so I couldn’t chance letting it go again. I was also hoping he’d change his attitude and we could be friends. Finally my two hero’s appeared! My hubs was already mad thinking I was trying to catch it and caused this, which is a totally irrational thought! The raccoon was humanely euthanized and sent off for testing. It didn’t bite me but it did scratch me so I had to start treatment when the results showed he was positive for rabies.
