Our “Advent at the Movies” rolls out yet another classic this week with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, which I think is Joseph’s favorite flick. Clark Griswold’s Christmas is meant to be perfect this year, that is, until his family commitments arrive. Wow, can Joseph relate to that! Christmas is a wonderful season, but is rife with responsibilities and busy schedules that sometimes rob it of the joy it rightly offers us. Let’s learn with Joseph, and with Clark, to receive the lives we are actually living so that we don’t miss the blessings, sometimes in disguise, that they offer.
