Titles read: "THE PERFECT WOMAN".
London.
High angle shot of people sitting at long lines of tables at a literary lunch at Grosvenor House. Showman and theatrical impresario Charles B Cochran (CB Cochran) is one of the guest speakers, talking on the theme of 'The Perfect Woman'. He says he is happy it doesn't fall to him to define perfect womanhood; he would rather give Miss (Beatrice?) Lillie and Miss Wood the worst dressing rooms in the theatre and miss them off the bill.
Brief C/U of a woman listening to the speech - could be comedienne / actress Beatrice Lillie. Cochran quotes Rudyard Kipling as saying "Woman is always a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke". The audience laughs and applauds.
The next speaker is Scottish comedian Will Fyffe who recites a little poem about 'The Perfect Woman' - after spending money on a less than perfect woman to improve her dress and features, she runs off with another man "so the money wasn't wasted".
