This unfinished iron line of clavos we sell is second to none. The iron on these clavos has surface rust developing and will continue to rust if not sealed or coated. Many of our customers prefer that development for the rustic look they are trying to achieve. Our clavos feature a thick heavy gauge iron head with a sturdy nail in which you can hammer directly into any softwood project. The heads are hand-hammered one-at-a-time by a skilled artisan. If you want to preserve the look on these, you would need to apply a clear matte finish (sold in any hardware store).
