This absolutely stunning arachnid is the 'black mirror peacock jumping spider', or Maratus speculifer.

This particular spider is a female, with males of this species being cream and black with long thin appendages and dark abdomens that they wiggle around during their mating dance.

Native to Australia, Maratus speculifer grows to only half a centimetre in length, so they aren't typically kept as pets.
