EdTech platform Unacademy fired teacher Karan Sangwan for urging students in a video to vote for educated politicians and not only those who can just change names. Unacademy deemed this a violation of conduct. Co-founder Roman Saini cited the 'Code of Conduct' as the reason for Sangwan’s termination. Sangwan plans to discuss the matter on his YouTube channel on August 19. The move sparked a political uproar, with parties condemning it. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal defended education-based voting, while others demanded an explanation from Unacademy.
