The first overseas death linked to the virus-stricken Ruby Princess cruise ship has been recorded after after an American man died after arriving home.
California resident Steve Lazarus, 76, contracted the virus aboard the ship before disembarking in Sydney and flying home to the United States.
Mr Lazarus' wife also tested positive for the virus.
The Ruby Princess remains docked at Port Kembla in New South Wales and has been ordered to leave Australian waters by Sunday.
