The Maly Tolbachik volcano, also known as Tolbachik's cinder cones, is a volcanic complex located on the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Russia. It is part of the larger Tolbachik volcanic group, which includes the neighboring Ostry Tolbachik volcano. Maly Tolbachik has a complex eruptive history with several significant eruptions occurring over the past few centuries.
The 1975-1976 eruption of Tolbachik volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula began on November 27, 1975, with the formation of a new cinder cone, known as Plosky Tolbachik II, on the southeastern flank of Maly Tolbachik volcano. Here we join Russian volcanologist in their quest to document the eruption
