Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs on Thursday (25th December 2014) assailed the Congress and other opposition parties for playing negative politics and called for strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for better governance.
“Entire nation watched how the Opposition parties stalled the proceedings of Parliament over trivial issues.
After giving a decisive mandate to the BJP-led NDA in the general elections, now the time has come to give bigger role to the BJP and its allies in various States to improve their strength in Rajya Sabha,” he told a seminar on good governance organised by the party at the Integral Institute of Advanced Management.
In the larger interest of the country, Mr. Modi should be allowed to have a long innings as Prime Minister for better governance, he said.
Describing former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee as a statesman with proven ability in leading a 23-party coalition at a difficult time, he said he was credited with taking up revolutionary programmes such as golden quadrilateral programme and Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana.
