Lantern shields were called as such because they were a way of combining a shield and a lantern for use at night, but some examples took it much further, adding blades and gauntlets. This example was modelled after the outrageous example on display in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria. This training version is the same side and weight as the original.
Note that halberds are an incredibly powerful and dominant weapon in unarmorued combat and here we are working with the lantern shield to see if it can overcome the very powerful pole weapon. The sword is the Black Fencer Steel Generation Complex Hilt Sidesword. The Halberd has an ash shaft of historically accurate weight, with a rubber training head at the lower end of the historical weight range.
