"Some people like to know that they’re losing inches. Maybe something feeling loose on you isn’t enough and you’d rather do some measurements. This chart tells you how to measure your waist circumference. The one thing we know about waist circumference is that for men if it’s greater than 40 and for women if it’s greater than 35, it will increase your rate for Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. That’s been medically researched and that’s where we all kind of carry our weight, isn’t it? It’s right here in the middle because our body knows how many calories we should have, but we don’t, and we’re taking in more every day and our body is storing that. Just in case it needs it, it’s going to store that. And that’s where our body fat comes from.
"One of the most important things about doing healthy weight loss and being healthy is that you don’t want to weigh yourself every day. Once a week: same day, same time, same outfit. Because if healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds, if you jumped om that scale every day – your weight will fluctuate – what is that all about? It’s playing with your head and it’s not going to be the motivation that you want. It’s the end result that you’re looking for so just weight yourself once a week: same day, same time, same outfit."
