A walk to 3 fells starting from the top of the Wrynose Pass in the Lake District. We follow the path from the parking area ( very limited parking spaces) at the top of the Wrynose Pass on to Wet Side Edge before taking in the excellent viewpoint at Hell Gill Pike. We continue to Little Carrs before reaching the Wainwright summit of Great Carrs. From Great Carrs it is a short walk up to the highest point of the walk on Swirl How (802m) We retrace our steps back down from Swirl How and head to our third fell of the day, Grey Friar. We visit the " Matterhorn Rock" near the summit of Grey Friar before heading to the crash site and memorial of a Halifax Bomber which crashed on the fells in 1944. We descend by re tracing our steps back down to the parking area at the top of the Wrynose Pass. A great walk with great views and plenty of interest.
