Candidates contesting in Nigeria's Presidential election scheduled for February next year have pledged to work with their supporters to ensure peaceful elections. The contestants have signed a peace pact in Abuja and committed to a free, fair, and credible election. The signing of the peace pact has become a tradition before elections since 2014 in response to emerging threats of violence and intimidation in the run-up to Nigeria's 2015 elections.
