This is an intro class on the divisional charts, or vargas, of Vedic Astrology. In Jyotish we do not just have one chart, we have 16 charts, of which the normal birth chart is just the first one! I also talk about how there is evidence that greek and western astrology traditions also had vargas at one point.
But currently Indian traditions of Astrology are the only ones that still hold this knowledge.
As a result, vargas are one of the important components of Jyotish that distinguish it from other predictive systems. Vargas are the key to doing really accurate predictive astrology, and as I explain here, they are the reason that twins born minutes apart have different lives.
