In this video, we dive into the incredible **Chicago Deep Tunnel mega project**, one of the most ambitious and complex engineering feats in the world. Officially known as the *Tunnel and Reservoir Plan (TARP)*, this massive underground infrastructure project was designed to address Chicago’s chronic flooding and sewage overflow issues. Spanning more than 100 miles of tunnels, some of which are located 350 feet underground, the project aims to capture and store stormwater and wastewater during heavy rainstorms, preventing it from flooding the city or contaminating local rivers and Lake Michigan.
