I'm not sure how old this planer is. My dad got it years ago and I started using it 15 years ago when I started as a woodworker. I have ran thousands of board feet through it and absolutely love this thing.
Process: Clean out all debris using brushes and pipe cleaners. Use Super Clean to break down any old pitch, wax, and grease. Remove Super Clean residue with wax and grease remover. Lubricate with lubricating oil then remove any excessive lubricating oil so wood wont adhere to it. Adjust infeed and outfeed tables as level as possible to the planer bed. Steel wool infeed, outfeed, and planer bed with Super Clean. Wax and Grease remover all surfaces, let dry, then paste wax all surfaces.
Johnsons paste can last a good month or 3. After completing all of these steps, you only need to check for level and rewax in the future. EZ-PZ!
