The Caribbean eco-tourism sector is worth $16 billion and employs more than 600,000 people. The amount of biodiversity riches in the area is immeasurable. All of this is under threat: as a result of one of the biggest fossil fuel discoveries in recent history, the World Bank has been funding Guyana's oil & gas development with tens of millions of dollars. The bank has paid to pave the way for ultra deep-sea drilling 120 miles off the small South American country’s coast. The extremely dangerous drilling project bears high risk of oil spills, which would irreversibly damage the entire Caribbean.
