Meet Central Division Officer Christopher Hagan. He was working in the heart of Uptown at Trade and Tryon Street when a frantic mother approached him holding her 18-month-old child who was not breathing. The child had been choking for several minutes. Officer Hagan went straight to work administering lifesaving back blows. The food that was choking the child became dislodged and the child began breathing again. Medic then transported the child to the hospital as a precaution.
