This seminar is a guide to apartment and home owners on cooperative housing society matters. Mr Vinod Sampat is among the earliest to oppose the compulsory registration of flats being introduced by the co-operative department vide circular dated 18/02/1994. After he pointed out several irregularities in the Bombay Stamp Act 1958 the authorities had to rectify some of them. Most people are burdened with a variety of regulations they have to comply by as members/residents of cooperative societies, and they have little knowledge of such matters.
He is the President of the Registration Fee & Stamp Duty Payers Association and the President of the Co-operative Societies Residents & Users Association. He is also an advisory member to Federation of Accommodation Industry of India and Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry. Mr Sampat is among the only seven people who have been made Honorary Patron members of the Estate Agents Association of India in the last 30 years. He had been on the panel of administrators and inquiry officers appointed by the Registrar of Co-operative Societies. In 1994, he was awarded the Accommodation Times Award for his contribution towards stamp duty matters. Next year, he received another award, for his contribution to co-operative society matters.
