At the World Trade Organization headquarters in Geneva, the WTO Public Forum this year opens on Tuesday, with the theme "Re-globalization: Better Trade for a Better World." Over the last 30 years, world trade has surged, worth over 30 trillion US dollars in 2023. It has enriched and changed all our lives. Yet, trade growth is hardly inclusive, with some left behind. Barriers such as geopolitics, tariffs, and technology gaps, are threats to the world trading system. How can we best cope with persistent challenges?
