President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the 125th anniversary celebration of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at the DPWH Central Office in Port Area, City of Manila on June 23, 2023.
Focusing on the theme, ‘Makasaysayang Daan tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan,’ this year’s DPWH anniversary highlights the Department’s historic accomplishments in terms of infrastructure development and its significant contributions to nation building in the last 125 years.
During the program, President Marcos Jr. witnesses the awarding and recognition of several DPWH Regional Offices and District Engineering Offices (DEO) which include Region 1, 1st and 2nd Districts of Pangasinan, and 2nd District of Batangas.
Since its establishment in 23 June 1898, the DPWH has delivered numerous flagship projects showcasing government’s capacity while displaying the Filipino culture, identity and aspirations. Under the Marcos Administration, it aims to offer fresh strategies and a new vision geared towards implementing a more robust infrastructure development to achieve greater benefits for the nation.
