So the thing about living in Dublin is…the grey weather gets me down. I miss Italy pretty constantly. We had a trip in mind but with a week’s notice pivoted and decided that Sardinia was somewhere we needed to see. You can get a direct flight to Cagliari airport pretty easily from most places around Europe and there are a multitude of rental car options so it didn’t take much for us to be on our way.
We had a few days of rain but nothing too drastic (particularly because they were mostly on our travel days) but summer feels like its just gaining momentum now. It’s pretty key to note that Sardinia is the second largest Island in the mediterranean so having your own mode of transport is really the way I’d recommend seeing this magnificent spot.
We traveled from Cagliari up to Olbia and then onward to Castelsardo and really feel like we’ve only just started to discover Sardinia (or Sardegna as the locals call it). Amazing blue water, gorgeous sand beaches, incredibly friendly locals, amazing seafood and everything else Italy has to offer - we absolutely fell in love.
As always, feel free to ask any questions below. We'd love if you shared this around and subscribed :)
