12×12 Offgrid Cabin Homestead Chores Day | Chicken Tunnel Build
Welcome to Maple Monkey Homestead, in todays episode I am getting down into the garden area to get the chickens tunnel built, so the chickens can have a comfortable place to do dust baths In the cold winter months. I am building a chicken tunnel with spare building materials I have laying around the homestead. I first get my metal hoops ready by digging a semi circle in the ground so I can place the metal ring in and cover with soil, after I get a few rings in the ground, I grab a piece of strapping that I can use to drill through the rings to keep them all in place, what this also does is gives me a base to staple my chicken meshing too. I cover it with a chicken mesh covering and add 2 more pieces of strapping to both sides to keep the mesh on the hoops and to pinch it all together.
The chicken tunnel is going to be some funny to watch the chickens go through from their coop to the greenhouse in the winter months, what this tunnel does is gives them access to an area where they can soak in some sunlight and do some dust baths in the winter months.
