If you need to shorten a threaded rod, you don't always have a special threaded rod cutter to hand and sometimes you use an angle grinder.
In our tips and tricks video, we show you how you can quickly cut a threaded rod to length with an #anglegrinder (sporting the RHODIUS XTK6 - for good reason). Naturally, without damaging the thread. The #RHODIUS XTK6 cutting disc is just only 0.6 mm-thick and delivers a very precise cut in this application. Compare this cut against the cut of a standard 1mm #cuttingdisc. You can cut a threaded rod to length particularly quickly, cleanly and almost burr-free with this disc. You can't see it in the video, but the professionals use additional metal or plastic protective jaws on the vice to prevent the nut getting scratched.
