Stem cells have the remarkable ability to self-organize in three-dimensional space into organ-like structures called organoids. Recent technologies have harnessed this property to create organoids from a myriad of tissue and organ sources, both healthy and pathological, providing unique insights into basic developmental biology and disease-specific mechanisms.
