The Battle of Aleppo was fought in 637 CE between the Rashidun Caliphate, led by Khalid ibn al-Walid, and the Byzantine Empire.
The Byzantine Empire controlled Aleppo, a strategic city in northern Syria.

Khalid ibn al-Walid, leading the Rashidun army, approached Aleppo from the east. The Byzantine garrison, led by a general named Joachim, defended the city. Khalid's forces besieged the city, breaching its walls and capturing it after a fierce battle. Joachim and his men retreated to a citadel, which Khalid's forces also captured.

Aleppo fell under Islamic control, marking a significant victory for the Rashidun Caliphate. The city became a key base for further Islamic conquests in Syria and Anatolia. Khalid ibn al-Walid's military prowess and strategic thinking played a crucial role in the battle's outcome.

Note: The Battle of Aleppo was part of the larger Muslim conquest of Syria, which ultimately led to the fall of the Byzantine Empire's eastern provinces.
