In this second video of our Wild Science series, wildlife biologists research the Gunnison sage grouse of Western Colorado, their breeding grounds, courtship displays and declining populations. There are now only about 5,000 of these birds remaining, and the species is now listed as 'threatened' by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The most significant threats to the Gunnison sage grouse are residential, commercial and energy development.
