Long waits were reported at locations in Raleigh, Durham, Matthews, and other cities. This clip, from Rashida Hodge on Twitter, shows people queueing up outside the Durham County Library.
“Everyone was thinking like me. NC polls open at 8 am and 6:30 am the lines are flooded. Love it – rock the vote, we ready!” Hodge wrote.
The early voting period would end on October 31, North Carolina officials said.
