Lloyd Green (born 1937) is my musical hero! Lloyd is my favorite pedal steel guitar artist. I love the guy and pray for him and his family regularly. Thank God for Lloyd, who was born in Leaf, Mississippi; grew up in Mobile, Alabama; and moved to Nashville at age 20 and the rest is history. Lloyd has recorded his masterful steel guitar on over 10,000 recordings, many of which you have likely heard on the radio throughout your lifetime, like all the Don Williams songs.
Jerry Byrd (1920-2005) is my favorite lap steel guitar artist, for his beautiful Hawaiian steel guitar.
Dave Hum (1966-2012) is my favorite banjo artist. He is the Lloyd Green of banjo, having an amazing skill at impeccable timing, like Lloyd and Tommy White. I really like this solo Gospel song by Lloyd, which is so precious. God is good to us all. Psalms 145:9, "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
