This is the first day of a two day walk along my Thames Path journey. The character of the Thames is certainly changing now. Gone are the wide open flat meadows which formed the landscape at the beginning of my travels. Where for miles between the small river towns I would hardly meet a sole.
Now the banks are often sheltered by low hills either covered with trees or costly houses ( frequently both!) There are definitely more people, the river is busier and the paths are well managed.
I have really enjoyed seeing this evolution and look forward to seeing it continue as my on going walk takes me nearer to the City of London.
