Officers are still searching for a suspect in a shooting that caused a huge police response and three people hurt in Raleigh. Three men were injured in a shooting Monday night at a Raleigh shopping center.
According to police, the shooting happened around 9 p.m. in a Food Lion parking lot near the intersection of Glascock Street and North Raleigh Boulevard. Police said two men were injured, and one man sustained minor injuries. They were transported to a local hospital.
A witness said they heard what sounded like fireworks, then the sounds got louder and hit a window of the Food Lion, sending people in the store running toward the back.
Multiple businesses in the area were also hit by gunfire, according to police.
This Food Lion store is the closest grocery store to Raleigh’s Oakwood neighborhood. In 2018 a woman was stabbed at this same shopping center.
Officers were at the scene until 2 a.m. They are still searching for the gunman, and the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to visit Crime Stoppers at www.p3tips.com/89 for anonymous reporting options or call 919-996-1193.
