American scientists say they are hopeful they have found a treatment to help patients with Covid-19 to recover quicker. A clinical trial with over 1,000 people in the US and in Europe shows that those given Gilead’s antiviral drug remdesivir got better days ahead of others. WHO will hold an emergency committee over the discovery although they had previously found only limited effects during a smaller study in China.
