Penny's first time on a kayak! The good news is neither dog nor human fell into the creek during filming of this video. I think Penny had a good time, she stayed calm during her ride on the Kayak and seemed genuinely interested in her surroundings.
Penny's first ride on a kayak was weeks in the making. I slowly introduced Penny to the dock where kayaks and canoes are launched at the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge. She was unsure about walking on the gangway that lead to a floating dock; with each visit to the park I made sure we spent time relaxing on the dock. I think this additional prep time helped calm her during this kayak ride. Of course, I did have to sit with her in the kayak for a good ten minute snuggle until she relaxed and started exploring around the kayak. After that it was smooth kayaking!
Honestly, I was far more nervous than Penny.
