Paving way for rural connectivity | Satara-Mahaswada Road
The state of Maharashtra is working on a significant plan to connect nearly every district with national highways. Once this network is completed, it opens up various possibilities such as the development of new industrial areas, important hubs, smart cities, and more.
The expansion of national highways has already made it much easier to travel to remote tribal areas, linking these distant places to the cities.
Now, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is focusing on modernizing its rural road network.
As part of this initiative, MEIL is carrying out a project that spans 85.7 kilometers, consisting of both two and four-lane roads, connecting Satara to Mahaswada.
This project is nearing completion and will soon be accessible to the public. When completed, it will reduce travel time and help alleviate traffic congestion.
The project includes the construction of 6 major bridges and 37 minor bridges. This controlled-access route will offer quick and secure connections to rural and urban areas.
With improved connectivity to rural regions, we can expect the growth of new industries, which, in turn, will lead to job opportunities and overall development in the Satara-Mahaswad region.
