Hirakud Dam
It is the longest earthen dam in the world, which is built across the river of Mahanadi at about 15 km long of sambalpur town in the state of Odisha. It is a first multipurpose river valley project of India after Independence that conceived by Er. M. Visveswaraya. And it is also an example of marvelous engineering works in India.
