Drill music goes all the way back to 2011 when artists like Lil Durk and Chief Keef were first getting started. As the years went on Chicago ended up pioneering a lot of trends, nobody had ever heard of smoking dead opps until Chief Keef said he was smoking Tooka but after Chicago popularized the term the world ran with too the point where 10 years later songs like "Who I Smoke" were being made in places like Florida. Chicago was also the first time major gang wars were broadcasted like O'Block vs. Tookaville, Lamron vs Jojoworld, 300 vs 051, and 600 vs 051. Alongside Keef and Durk rappers like L'A Capone, RondoNumba9, G Herbo, Lil Bibby, and Young Pappy also blew up on the Drill scene and Drill took over the world inspiring UK Drill and later NY Drill.
