When you only have a short time to explore Grand Canyon National Park, I show you a great way to spend a few hours at the Grand Canyon to get some spectacular views. After finding a parking spot near Grand Canyon Village, walk over to the Rim Trail and walk parallel with Hermit Rd to each of the different viewpoints. Some of the viewpoints I visit include Trail View Point, Maricopa Point, Powell Point, and Hopi Point with the latter being the best way (along Hermit Rd) to look out at the canyon toward both the west and the east. Bring some binoculars to Hopi Point as you can get a great view of the Colorado River down in the canyon. Except during winter months, Hermit Rd is closed to vehicular traffic, but there are free shuttles which will take you to the different viewpoints as well as to Grand Canyon Village.
As a bonus, I also start the video at Horseshoe Bend near Page, Arizona which is further upstream along the Colorado River.
