Driving from Brienz to Lucerne over the Brünig-Pass. Enjoy a scenic drive through the magnificent mountain scenery of the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland.
This road trip starts on the A8 motorway (expressway) in Brienz, a village on the northern shore of Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland region. The Brünig-Pass is the highest point of the drive with an elevation of 1008 meters (3307 feet). It connects Meiringen in the Bernese Oberland with Lungern in central Switzerland. The pass is crossed by the A8 motorway (expressway) between Lucerne and Spiez and also crossed by the Brünig railway line (Zentralbahn). The Brünig-Hasliberg station is located at the top of the pass.
