Engine

The Billy Goat QV900HSP is powered by a reliable Honda GX270 270cc 4-stroke engine which develops 9 hp. I would have expected the Billy Goat to have electric starting, especially with a machine with this type of specification. However, it is the traditional rope recoil start.

The good thing is that Honda engines are extremely easy to start. I have owned several machines that are powered by Honda and even after several years, Honda engines will often start the first time. I have never had a problem with a Honda engine, the reliability and economy are excellent.

As with all machines, it’s important to make sure that the air cleaner is kept clean for efficient running and economy. With a machine that is potentially carrying out a dusty job, air filters need even more regular cleaning.
