Raphael Magyezi the Igara West, Member of Parliament, has spoken out ahead of the ruling on the Age Limit appeal on Thursday. The legislator who became famous as the MP who tabled the bill to have the constitution amended to have the presidential age limit lifted, says the Bill was tabled legally despite the criticism it received from different people including voters in his constituency. Magezi says he has since received threats on him by unknown people and also claims that his family members have also been threatened. On December 20 2017, Parliament amended the constitution, which uplifted the presidential age limit and also the term of parliament to seven years. The move prompted City lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi and four others to petition the Constitutional Court.
