We’re excited to unveil our new Social Mobility Index, which will give us a much more systematic and consistent way to monitor mobility, across the whole UK, year on year. These innovative metrics have been carefully selected with input from experts in economics, sociology, and education, as well as stakeholders from government, business, and third-sector organisations.
We plan to undertake research to better understand what people actually think about social mobility, so we can ensure the work of the Commission is aligned to their needs and wants. This report is the start of a conversation that we hope to continue over the coming years.
