A fun solo travel montage of my time living on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
The Isle of Lewis & Harris form part the western isles, otherwise known as the Outer Hebrides which is a collection of islands just off the north-west coast of the Scottish mainland. This is a lovely rural island with interesting historical landmarks and many beautiful beaches. I'd highly recommend a visit to the Isle of Lewis or any of the western isles as part of your Scotland travel itinerary.
The Isle of Lewis is the home of my grandparents as well as a good portion of my ancestors and was a temporary base for me during my solo travels in Europe. My life here was quiet and simple with most of my time spent going for walks in the areas surrounding the capital, which is called Stornoway.
In this video you will see some of Lew's Castle as we take a walk around the Lew's Castle Grounds which look onto Stornoway, we will explore some of the beaches and boglands, you will see a bit of the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry ride which takes one between Ullapool and Stornoway and you will see some bonus flashes of Edinburgh too. Stick around till the end for a real ice-breaker ;)
This video was shot in Autumn which is a lovely time to travel in Scotland as everything gets quite brown and icey.
