In this short video I share one of the simple ways I learned how to cure my own Salmon eggs/roe years ago! Through many "Trials and Tributaries" I have learned to let the "cure" do the work!
I use a combination of Pro-Cure products along with Non-Iodized Morton Sea Salt.
-Pro-Cure Bait Cure "Redd Hot Double Stuff
-Pro-Cure Shrimp and Prawn Cure
-Morton Non-Iodized Sea Salt
The salmon roe skeins in this video are from a Fall Chinook Salmon personally caught on the Columbia River Hanford Reach area last weekend!
Butterfly your eggs open by carefully cutting along the top layer of the skein, not to cut through, opening your skeins up!
Sprinkle away!
A little goes along way with this stuff!
Work the salt and cure it gently with your fingers.
Now wait!
Once they juice up they will be ready to cut or jar up as is!
I like to cut the roe up into salmon size chunks and let them dry a little longer before I jar them!
