Starting a new business is closely linked with risk-taking - but does it have to be? Successful entrepreneurs do not blindly take risk but treat their business like a scientific experiment. INSEAD Professor Chiara Spina lays out four steps to de-risk business ideas using 'scientific thinking' - the same process scientists follow to understand reality and generate innovations - and explains how anyone can harness it to de-risk their business. Chiara Spina is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD. Her research focuses on understanding how entrepreneurial firms leverage systematic decision-making and experimentation to innovate and grow. Chiara is the Director of pre-acceleration programs in Italy, the UK and India, where she has worked with more than 1,500 entrepreneurs. In her role, she combines the latest management practices with research insights to help deliver cutting-edge training and mentorship programs. In the last ten years, Chiara has worked with governments, as well as with multinationals in commodities, technology, and in the financial sector across Europe, Middle East, Asia, and North America. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
