Alan Jones will plead not guilty to a slew of indecent assault charges relating to ten alleged victims and spanning nearly two decades, as his lawyers say the veteran radio broadcaster “welcomes” the opportunity to “clear his name” before a trial by jury.
Mr Jones appeared in the Downing Centre local court for the first time this morning, after eight fresh charges relating to a new victim were laid by police on Tuesday.
His lawyer, Bryan Wrench, told a packed courtroom that Mr Jones “looks forwards to clearing his name” in a jury trial, especially after “untruths” were spread by police and the media.
