I don't know how I got the video to go into slow motion, and I don't know how to fix it!
The point is that the NAV VI still malfunctioned with the ignition off. he display was non reactive.
I removed the NAV VI form the cradle and brought it inside and of course it seems to work just fine.
I don't know if it is the BMW interface that's causing the problem or the NAV VI.
More experimentation to come.
