Back in 2019 at the El Centro airshow I was fortunate to capture the The Legend Chris Darnell amaze the crowds in his Jet Truck 'Shockwave' ran by his father of Darnell Racing Enterprises. I had little knowledge of the Truck and team at the time but since then been glued to their social media posts and itching to capture them again sometime. Sadly on July 2nd this year Chris lost his life in shockwave whilst performing at the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show, Michigan. unimaginable for his family and friends this news saddened the airshow community throughout. Darnell Racing Enterprises agreed to continue the 2022 season as this would of been Chris' wish.

Aviation Nation 2022 saw Mark Smith behind the wheel of 'Aftershock' the words fastest fire truck. Powered by two jet engines producing 24,000 horsepower taking the truck to a record breaking 407 miles per hour as verified by the Guinness book of world records.
