Kip Thorne presents “From the Big Bang to Black Holes and Gravitational Waves”
Friday, March 11, 2016
One hundred years ago, Albert Einstein formulated his general relativity theory, which describes space and time as warped by mass and energy. Kip Thorne, Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics, Emeritus, at Caltech, describes the ideas underlying general relativity and the amazing discoveries about warped spacetime that have been made in the past 100 years. This public lecture was presented in conjunction with "General Relativity at One Hundred: The Sixth Annual Francis Bacon Conference," co-hosted by Caltech and The Huntington.
