South Korea is stepping up COVID-19 testing at schools before they reopen in less than a month. There has been a sharp rise in infections among children. Nearly 90% of South Korea's adult population has been fully vaccinated, but the inoculation of children aged between 12 and 17 only began in recent weeks. The country reported over 2,600 new infections on Nov 3. The government plans to expand testing in schools in and around Seoul. More virus-prevention personnel will also be deployed to overcrowded schools.
