Animals and pets provide companionship and pleasure. Even though pets can make great companies to human beings, there are still people who take them for granted, and even worse, abuse them. Animal cruelty isn’t a new phenomenon, unfortunately, it has been occurring since a long time ago, and it is still happening now. Furthermore, the Movement Control Order (MCO) implemented by the Malaysian government due to the Covid-19 pandemic has caused pet abandonment cases to increase by 300%. Fortunately, there are simple gestures that can be done in order to prevent animal abuse and abandonment. Adoption is a way to prevent animal cruelty, as adopting a pet that has suffered abandonment or abuse is able to help them to recover and prepare them to move into a new permanent loving home.
We, UTAR students of MPU34032 Community Project had created a few educational videos to create awareness and increase attention regarding issues due to animal cruelty and promoting the benefits of animal adoption.
